Huzzah!

When I first got into aquarium keeping I bought a live plant and asked if it had any special care, the LFS store said nope, and took my money... this was the same Lfs that sold me 20 fish at once with a uncycled tank :x, as well as a common pleco in a 29 gallon , I was just starting and didn't know any better.
So I got home put all my fish in and my beautiful plant (I think its some type of sword, Amazon red sword I think) and it looked fine. Than all my fish died lol! but the plant lived because it wasn't affected by a serious ammonia poisoning lol. So over the course of a while probaly a month or two I bought 3 more plants not knowing the lighting requirments. 1 Cabomba, no longer thriving, basicly dead, 1 marimo moss ball, and one driftwood with mystery plant. After finding out the lighting requirments I was ticked at the LFS and my plants started dying. This is about the same time I got into breeding guppies and bought a 10 gallon starter kit for the fry. I later quit breeding (im going to start again with a fresh mind and lots more info) and turned it into a tetra tank that later broke out in ich and killed all but 2 of my neons =(. So, Im going to get into breeding again and I was looking at my lighting system as my plants where on there last legs. And Huzzah! what I saw was awesome my lights where 2 25Watt bulbs 50Watts per ten gallons !!!!!!!!!!!! So today i moved my plants over and hopefully they will start to grow! YES! and im thinking of putting the neons in my 29 gallon with my adult gups while i put the fry in my 10 gallon with plants. and im going to start culling the bad fry so i have 'Fancy Guppy fry'

Don't forget that for faster growing plants that require higher lighting levels, they will also need higher level of CO2. I once thought about creating a tank full of harder plants, but I chickened out.
